There’s an old saying that goes the best things always come in the loudest packages! OK, I made that up, but it’s true, so whatever! This is why Howling Mountain are just so good! Rockin’ the house down vibes with all the speaker-blasting goodness you would expect to find. From the wailing, Chrissy Amphlett style vocals to the thumping bass lines to the tell-tale beating heart of the drums, Howling Mountain are a rockin’ good time. We caught up with lead guitarist and vocalist, Sarah to find out what makes Howling Mountain tick.
Please tell us about yourselves – who are you all and how did Howling Mountain come to be?
Sarah the howler of the band who also shreds like nobody’s business on the g-tar, Michael the thundering bass that melts your face and Al the animal out back on the drums.
Sarah and Al crossed paths over 10 years ago and knew that one day they would be in an incredible rock ‘n’ roll band. They finally got their shit together and with Mike finding them online via an ad, from that first jam, they never looked back.
How would you describe your style and sound?
Howling Mountain explodes with grunge and dirty blues ferocity.
Who would you say are your musical and creative inspirations and who do you think is doing amazing things right now?
High Energy Grunge, blues, stoner, metal, and psychedelic bands.
The Weedian compilation releases are a great way to discover all the great music being created worldwide, in the grunge, blues, stoner, metal, and psychedelic scene.
If you could tour anywhere in the world where would you be playing and why?
Red Rocks with support from the Tea Party and the Superjesus, or most definitely the first annual Howling Mountain Area 51 Music and Dark Arts Festival. The truth is coming and we want to be there and celebrate.

Just dropped our 7-inch Gaslight, and some wicked new tees as well. Both available at Bandcamp and the Desert Highways store. Videos are being made and the final shine is being put on our debut album, which will be out before the end of the year.
